I Am A Woman, I'm Just Human

I was lazily browsing online one boring afternoon, yawning every now and then despite having had nine hours of sleep the previous night. I stretched my sweaty arms, reached for the pc keyboard and clicked my way to this social networking website where I am presently a member. ..checked my mail…..Nothing new today except from my old thoughtful and faithful friends that are always dropping by to say how I am. Despite the drowsy eyes, my attention shifted to numbers of emails in my inbox. Total: 315. That’s for the period of one year..Not bad, I think. Considering that I rarely have much time to really sit down and reply to every fan email I get.

I slowly browsed each page and it occurred to me…. why not?

Why not, indeed!

You see, I am a woman and I am just human.

I don’t know if its vanity to you but my eyes reflect a certain glow when strangers say I look good or look ok. I blushed and even turned purple when people, especially men, (oh yeah!) pay compliments my way, and I feel so conscious when a few notices the wittiness in my writings..

Perhaps its part of a woman’s psyche- the need to be appreciated; to be told I look fine not only once, but all the time; to be loved not by one but possibly by all; to be noticed and to be worshiped; to be treated as the object and subject of desire to the opposite gender. Call me foolish, shallow, vain but that is exactly what I feel.

Today, I decided to publish my fan mails. They are all sweet and very thoughtful. I feel truly guilty for not replying to these messages..To all of you whom these messages originate, thank you all. Count this as my way of saying I appreciate all your writings; for the effort you put to composing these messages; for the time you spent reading my profile, thank you, thank you, thank you very much.

To protect the privacy and innocence of the person concern, their given names, email address/es and telephone numbers were deliberately omitted . For the sake of identification/ownership, their nicknames were displayed for all the world to see:D . The letters/messages were as is- in its original form, never edited.

Owing to the length of text, I have divided them in two parts. Part I shows the letters from the whole of 2006, arranged in reverse chronological order- starting from December 2006 to April 2006. I enjoyed reading each one of them, and makes me smile every time I read them (it feeds the ego, you know ;) I think I will be smiling for many years.

Are you sure older means wiser? I know some older people that are anything but wise. Makes me wonder how they got to be that old in the first place. lol

Reading your comments in"who I'd like to meet" was very helpful to me. I joined "my spaces" a few days ago and after a quick look started to think that was a mistake. The place seems overrun with butch males and oversexed females all indulging in ego trips:-) Their profiles apart from the stupid comments from friends are so full of HTML gimmicks that it is often impossible to read them.

I almost cried when he said goodbye. His reaction to rejection is very cool. All in all, he’s a nice guy. ..especially that last portion when he said “That’s ok”…I know how it feels to be rejected..It hurts like hell! I think I only beat him into saying “you are not my type” . Maybe he’s just being a gentleman and waited for me to get bored.... You think?

All Life Is An Expirement

I often wonder if people really read blogs seriously. The other day I asked my daughter to bring me to this one spot to take a picture of this something something that I want to post in my blog.

With rolling eyes, she says, “no one ever bothers to read blogs” …

I was thoughtful for a while and considered her statement. I said, “you could be right on that but, I noticed the number of page views on my site is slowly increasing each day as I write more blogs”…That’s very encouraging sign for me. I am inspired to write more.

But hey, I have a confession. The number of views on my web page are actually small…Six months since I started blogging, I couldn’t even get a hundred views. There is one guy in China whose website boast of over 50 million views per page. That’s in China. I reasoned: Considering that there are over a billion Chinese in this world, is fairly easy to attract a large number of readers to his/her website.. Ha. Ha. I’m actually green with envy.

Hush, hush....I comforted myself.. There are over sixty million blogs last year alone and unless one has a very prominent name and a very interesting piece of article to write, it is very difficult to attract readers. I visited one site who boasted listings of famous blogs and I tried reading a few of them. They seem very long and winding…I couldn’t even finish one article..I’m thinking I have to make mine, short ..I have to apply what I’ve learned in my composition writing. It should be like a skirt-- not too long and not to short: long will bore the audience to death, very short is giving away too soon…not too short will leave the audience asking for more!...

On serious note, I have written a couple of entries about topics that interest me most or things that I find annoying, pressing, amusing, disturbing..just anything that moves me to - tears, laugher or death. It may not be of interest to all, even they might find it useless but who knows..…

Plus I want to see my works online..I take pride that I am able to write my thoughts and read them over and over again. I will recruit more readers..ha ha...
